LOL.....got me to open the thread!
Nice tank.....looking good.

LOL! Still wondering why that got auto corrected!

Thanks, still need to get the Elatine Triandra and Ludwigia Sp Red, but it's off to a good start I think.

Anyone have some good looking S. Repens I could buy? Would like some more that doesn't look like a stem plant?

OS, I just want the AR around the DW. Just thicken in where it is now, but go around all the way (except for behind it)

Joey, could ya PM me about the Ealatine and Ludwigia?

Okay Sidney,
From what I can tell by the picture you will need about 8 to 10 plants. Each plant should be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches apart. Look at your space and tell me if this is about right. OS.

That sounds about right. I will go go make sure in a bit. The AR Mini I have right now is kinda turning brown... Any tips to get it red again?

Good morning Sidney,
The AR mini needs medium high to high light, phosphates at 1-3 ppm and benefits greatly from root tabs under them. Root tabs with extra iron are the best. After they fill out well (3-4 months) many will have little side shoots hidden under the crowns that you can pull off and replant, making more. They will come together and make a nice red carpet. When they start getting crowded together too much, their leaves on the outsides will start to get stunted. Spread them out or thin between them for maintaining light and some water flow. They are tough little guys and don't seem to mind being replanted very much. OS.

I will stick some root tabs in there then. Wanting to find some clay tabs as well for the extra iron. Do you think with my light it will stay red?

Yes, I have some under a true medium light in my 16g and it is a more bronze red on top of the leaves but still true red underneath. Still very attractive.

Looking good! If you're looking for root tabs, osmocote plus works really well (but it is easy to overdose). Clay tabs would work well too. What's your dosing/water change schedule?

Well, for now I'm thinking one 50% water change a week, waiting to hear back from your PM to figure out the dosage level.

Updated FTS. Meant to do one yesterday but was at the doctors all day. Exam, blood draws, X-rays, just having the time of my life  Anubias has some sort of algae on it as you can see, and the H. Brown is getting some nice color.

Thanks Meb. I will be switching the heater out for a different one here shortly. Just afraid to do so now that there is livestock in the tank.

Plant list so far is AR Mini, Hygro Brown, S. Repens, Anubias Nana Petite and a clump of a compact type of Hygro which I will grow out for a couple weeks and then move it to a different tank.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. Between finals week, new semester, general life problems, a goat dieing, another almost dieing from pnuemonia, medical problems, etc, the tanks have been put on hold!

I come bringing an update though, so don't worry.

Algae problems. Diatomes, which are to be expected. I also have some green spot algae on the glass, and some black stuff growing on the anubias.
S. repens pretty much died off.
A.R Mini is still there, but not growing.
Ludwigia SP Brown is still there as well, but not growing either.

I believe part of the problem is my fault. With everything going on last month, I lost motivation for everything. So sometimes the lights didn't get turned on, ferts/glut dosed, etc. Second, I am wondering if the light has anything to do with it?

Let me take some pictures. I want to get the tank healthy and growing again, so I will need some help. Going to do a 2g water change tonight and I will test nitrates and phosphates then. I did loose my phosphate test card.... So I will attach a picture.

I apologize about the picture quality... Taken with my iPod.
