Clown Monarch
Aquarium Advice FINatic
I added some more live rock to my Fluval canister filter. The canister has been operating with nothing in it for about 6-7 months (except live rock). When I opened the lid it was completely alive with pods, worms - even some apstasia anemones which I never remember having (and don't live in the tank) - the water was literally stirring with life.
I wanted to remove the plastic divider that holds the filter pads, but when I removed it there was what looked like an oil slick about the size of a silver dollar on the plastic. I looked closer and it started oozing across the plastic, expanding and contracting. I've never seen anything like it. I did my best to get it off the plastic and back into the canister and eventually did, but I hope I didn't harm it. Any idea what this thing is?
