I've always had success breeding my fish, except for betas for some reason. Anyway, when you have a brand new bunch of fry, put them in a floating breeding cube and feed them live brine baby shrimp. The fry will double in size in half the time. Make yourself a brine shrimp hatchery and feed the brine shrimp as soon as they hatch (which should be in 24 hours if done properly). Baby brine shrimp are called napauli and are very high in protein and other choice ingredients that speed up tremendously the growth rate of young fry. To make a brine shrimp hatchery there are many ways, here is one way http://websvirginia.com/angels/hatchshrimp/
Good luck.
