I have a baby mollie in my ten gallon. (I think it’s a mollie, might be a platy). It’s black and very hard to see amongst my black gravel. Is the color that the baby is now, going to be it’s adult color? Or will it start developing color later on? IMG_5828.JPG

Being black I would say that is going to be final color . My platys are almost clear at that stage and color up as they grow....lol

100% black molly. My baby mollies/platys are either almost fully coloured or start off a solid colour and develop into other colours (ie starting off orange and turning calico or gold dust)

Give it some time and see how it will develop. Even a very dark looking molly fry can change its color or even pattern.
