I used to have a couple of tanks...20 & 30 gallon...before the Internet. I had never heard of the nitrogen cycle and never tested my water but I did frequent water changes.... I lost very few fish over the years and bred guppies, mollies, and Jack Dempsey's..... I moved into an old house with no AC (air conditioning, not power) and it got too hot for my fish so I gave up the hobby.
Now I retired year before last and decided to take the hobby back up this past summer... thanks to the Internet and YouTube and forums like these, I am learning so much about the hobby I would never have believed it.....
