Bacopa monnieri

Common Names: Water Hyssop, Bacopa

Category: Stem Plant

Origin: Africa, Asia, and the Americas

Salinity: Freshwater

Difficulty: EASY!!!

pH: 5-7, however this plant can tolerate basic water as well.

Temperature: 60*-86*F or 15*-30*C

Potential size: As far as you let it grow (and it will grow out of the tank!)

Position in Aquarium: Background, however can become foreground or midground if you trim it to that size.

Color: Green, but will become yellow with lack of proper lighting.

Lighting: Most say Medium+ lighting, however I have grown this in low light.

Ferts: Not needed, but would love any ferts or CO2.

Propagation: Snip some off the top when trimming, and put that in the substrate.

Comments: I got this plant about a year ago. I had little knowledge on how to take care of it, but thankfully it did! The plant has taken over many of my tanks and is a great plant! It looks different from a lot of other plants with it's underwater succulent look. This plant can grow out of the tank, and the emersed form is actually a herb that is looked at like a treatment to some ailments. This plant has out grown any other plant that I have had. This plant is really one of the easiest aquarium plants out there!
