Bad worm?

I spotted this worm on a moss ball. Any idea what it is? Is it a parasite to be concerned about? it's in a shrimp only tank, can worms harm shrimp? I removed the moss ball, but assume there are more.

If it moves like a living organism then it probably is a worm. To me without seeing it move I think it looks like a plant root.

I removed it... definitely a worm. Any idea what kind?

Probably one of several usually known as detritus worms, and virtually always harmless. There aren't many parasites that affect shrimp, as compared to fish anyway. Fish usually eat such things when they see them.
