Balloon fish

I have a couple questions, and thank you in advance for anyone that can help me.
I have 1 balloon pearl gourami(sex unknown)
1. Are balloon fish fertile?
2. Would being balloon change how their fins are shaped? (typical way to sex gouramis is with the top fin, so I've read)
3. Would a regular pearl gourami mate with my balloon gourami? (what are the chances, I don't want them to fight)

Sometimes they are infertile because they are bred for their defect, otherwise, treat them just like the normal fish. They will breed with the other sex of their specific species, no matter how wrong it is.

And yes the fins are slightly different, google pictures online for the general idea.
