I have had 2 banana plants in my 55 for a few months (not actually sure when I got them) all of a sudden after a water change a couple weeks ago one started to float a bit. It is still secured to the sand by a root or stem that grew on its own. I don’t want to disturb it or burry the tubers, I was told it could begin to rot.

Is it an issue to let it float like in the pic?

Actually I believe it was when I was adding some water after a PWC. I had the tubers under a a centimetre or so and knocked it out. It seems the anchor roots are what is holding it, the plant seems to be growing well so figure going to leave it and not disturb it. I’ll weight it down if it starts to float to the surface
