I haven't been on in a while. A few months back I traded in my 40 breeder for a 65 and am keeping peacock cichlids in a planted tank. Quite the challenge, but it's only fun if it's hard, right?

1 empress hap
2 OBs
1 Sulfurhead (I think)
1 red shoulder
2 Lwanda
2 others I'm not sure of

I am in the process of setting up a 55G peacock tank. Do your fish have plenty room? Do you plan on adding more? Do you think you could send a picture of your tank. I am looking for setup ideas.

If you have space for the 55, then I would consider paying a bit more for the 75. That extra 20 gallons makes a lot of difference and makes life a lot easier. This is my 1st cichlid tank, so I'm kinda playing it by ear. I plan to stock heavily, though.

By the way, I just realized I didn't answer your question. Peacocks aren't quite as aggressive as other Africans and I think they would be okay in a 55. I wouldn't go any smaller, though. I'm sorry for a potentially discouraging response ?.
