I saw this today on DW news and thought the same thing. That or they didn't use thick enough styro.
Didn't they add an elevator in the middle of it? That's gotta put some wiggling into the equation. Very sorry that it happened, what a very sad mess.

According to what i read it was the worlds largest cylindrical aquarium and did indeed have an elevator up through the middle.
1500 dead fish. Cause, not carrying out required maintenance/ inspections and cost cutting on both the original installation and a recent renovation.
Aquarium should have been heated to 80c after both the original construction and renovation but this wasnt done to save money.
