Just moved into our new place so it's time to set up my tank again. Live sand and full of water. Good start gonna pick up some live rock tomorrow.

One week. Gonna get rid of the white rock.also gonna pick up a damsel today to help cycle the tank and give me something to look at.

Keep the rock in. It will color up as it ages with your tank.
Also, why not skip the damsel to cycle the tank and use a cocktail shrimp? Just put it in a pair of panty hose and there isn't anything to even clean up!
 
Yeah the rock will colour up but, it looks just on its own there and not part of it!! Whatever you want!! If the rock was un cured you wouldn't have to cycle with anything just wait for the cycle!! But if you want to remove the white rock and buy live rock then of could cycle without damsel or shrimp
 
I wouldnt suggest cycling with damsels because they can get very territorial at the fish you plan to add later.
