All opinions open. I was curious, but what else could you use that is can I say better or just as good as "live rock? Just to cut down on rock because some people don't like most of the space taken up by rock in the aquarium. I've heard ceramic flower pot pieces to bio balls to pieces of PVC piping cut up. Is there anything else for your sump or anything?

Why would the sump need to be bigger than the DT. That would be silly. But you could put a lot of rock in that section of a sump and make up for what is missing in the DT. That is what I was saying.

I've heard good and bad about bioballs. Heard they are nitrate factories?
