OK, I have Black Beard Algae that seems to grow quick and are covering several areas of my planted tank. What is the best way to get rid of or control this situation?

I have a 26 gal tank with about 12 small tetras. I do 25% water changes every 7 days. I have 2.5 watts od 6700k of light per gallon. I leave the light on for 14 hours each day. I;ve lowered the lighting duration to 12 hours now

What can I do?

Thanks in advanced!

You need to get the nutrients in balance. First cut the lighting down to 12 hours a day or less.

Do you have CO2? I have found that if you can keep all other nutrients in balance and maintain a CO2 level of around 30 ppm you can really make a dent in BBA.
