Black dots on plants

Hello,

My 1 week old fish tank started to show some black dots on my plants as shown in the attached images, kindly advice whats could that be?

I don't think that plant is truly aquatic. It will probably keep getting worse and start to rot. Did you get it at Petsmart or Petco? They sell these in those plastic tubes with the gel at the bottom. These are made for terrariums more than aquariums.
 
yup... Dracena sanderiana... not aquatic. It would be good to go ahead and pull em out.
 
Yep, we sell this as a house plant at work. It's one of those that rots very easily if you water it too much, so I don't know whose bright idea it was to sell it as an aquatic plant!
 
One other possible thing, though probably not--we added black gravel and some dust covered our plants. It was black and it looked kind of like that. So if you have black gravel the dust could be kicking up. The others are probably right though. =]
