So I got two of these about a week ago being sold as Blue Acara.
Very rough to tell (for me) if it is an Acara or a Green Terror at this size, same size as my mature rams.
Any ideas?
Fins are a bit ripped, the other supposedly Blue Acara I got with it did a job on him, had to eventually separate them.
The one in the pictures, is very peaceful and at the moment is hanging out with a few Bolivian Rams and a couple of Angels.

Sure looks like a blue acara to me but I'm not expert in the cichlid field. I had some a while back and they look the same.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

It's what I'm hoping it is and looks consistent to other pictures of the acara I've seen on the net.

Thanks!

Compare to my eba, same orange fin stripe.

Great thanks. I'm trying to start a semi peaceful south / central American cichlid tank and thought the Acara would be a good candidate.
Brookster123, I like your eba!

I keep 4 in a 75 with angels and a big thorycinths "red auerum". 3 m/1f. The largest male and female have paired and spawned a few times.it gets a little chaotic during feeding and spawning. Peaceful for the most part.

Definitely blue acara, although they may not be the electric blue color that you usually see in the blue acara the silver bodied ones are just as common. You can actually feed them Hikari cichlid pellets to bring out a faded blue in them or so ive been told. Enjoy!
