I'd have to say it would be pretty unhappy. They need more floor space to scavenge about and..well..just act like crays do..

Alright I will wait for that sale but until then he'll be in the 10 gallon. What I was thinking was one rock cave taking about 7" of the 20" length of the ten gallon and then covering the cave with sand so it's basically like he can go ontop of the cave and have a full 20"

I wouldn't worry too much about covering it with sand, or even building a cave. I'd just do a rock pile. They love to back into a small niche where their claws can be sticking out, just in case something interesting swims by.
