I have a 55 gallon setup with the following stock:
7 cherry barbs
5 zebra danios
2 Bolivian rams
1 German blue ram
2 small (4") iridescent sharks
1 pictus catfish
2 kissing gouramis
So I started noticing ich spots on one of the iridescent sharks last week. Before I knew it, most of my stock was in full breakout. I began dosing the tank with Quick Cure (malachite green) every night until the ich cleared, then did a 50 percent water change. I kinda knew that the scaleless sharks and catfish would suffer some side effects from the malachite and sure enough they have some fin damage. I am treating this with melafix and pimafix.
What I didn't expect is that I have lost 3 of the Cherry barbs since the ich,has passed. Is it possible they are dying because the ich stressed them out so much or could it be the malachite green?
Thanks for any advice!
