Brand New 55 gal FOWLR

So i started a sw tank. Always had freshwater since i was 7 so let me know what you think

actually then the stand i bough needed to be modded for refugium and also was to low to the ground so i built a platform but eventually the platform started to crack due to the weigh of the water and two tanks.

cycled with just water and live sand for two weeks by itself then added rocks 30 lbs just to start doesnt look like much hahaneed another 30 to look decent cycled with two raw shrimpfor about 3 weeks with the rocks ammonia only went to to 1.0 and nitrites rto 1.0 but then dropped i believed cause i used cured lr from lfs nitrates less than 20 so im pretty happy for a start

the raw shrimp had a weird web like thing around them after 2 weeks in the tank i smash them with a net and something flew out of the shrimp and back into the lr havent seen it since lol. added two fire fish as well as my hitchhiker 6 legged start fish but they died all my test results were doing great so i dont know what happened until i tested my salinity its was 1.032 i didnt know (first newbie mistake) was i was topping off with saltwater instead of freshwater did a 50 percent pwc and now all good

Great job. It's good that the base cracked because it threw the look off. I thought you built that base to house your sump in. What are your stocking plans?

nice tank but i think u need to add another LR before u put any LS...

for llive stock i got some percula clowns im acclimating right def want some yellow belly tangs and for some odd reason a mandarin fish idk why but the colors are crazy of them and yea i know on the live rock i need more i said that atleast another 30 lbs but all the rock i get is cured at the lfs so most likely no major ammonia spikes

i got 60 # of live sand i wanted a deep sand bed as well as in my refugium ordered my lights so i can get some chaeto in there cant wait for my live stock ill keep u guys posted

Looks good. What tang are you referring to when you say yellow belly?

honestly i dont know a friend had it in his tank blue with a yellow belly i love the tangs beautiful color

A yellow belly hippo tang would not be a good choice for your tank, they get over a foot long.

Really? He has one in his 90 but my tank is alot longer I don't know specs for his it's just a deeper tank
