I have a bit of brown algea growing on my tank how do i get rid of it its all over my rocks and sand i have a sand sifter star so its not as much on the sand but its really ugly and i want it out thank you

Can you tell us more about the system? It is hard to help with anything without knowing more about the tank, like size, current parameters, livestock, how often you feed...so on.

But in general, brown usually means diatoms. Diatoms feed off of silicates in the rock and sand. Once they consume all of the silicates they die off. Nothing consumes them and it is simply an ugly phase we all had to go through.
