I just started cycling my 55 gal for a few days and some bubbly foam has started to appear on top, is this normal?

Amm 4ppm
Nitrites/nitrates 0
Ph 7.6

What is your ammonia source?

The only thing that concerns me is if it contains surfactants which could create the foaming in your tank.

Shake up the bottle of ammonia - does it get foamy on the top, or do any bubbles created from shaking quickly pop?

By the way, ammonia will probably be listed as Ammonium Hydroxide, and it will also have water in it most likely.

The bottle isn't clear but when I shake it and open it, bubbles up a bit yes, now you worry me
I had seen, on other forums, that it was good for cycling...

If it has only ammonia and water than it is fine, must be something else that is the problem.

Your ammonia is fine.
Can you post a picture of it?
I was only worried if you had an ammonia with surfactants but since that is not an issue I would not be too concerned :)

It's almost all gone now, must've been the water current from the hob filter, the water was a little lowImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1388954621.158510.jpg
