I heard tropheus are successfully keeped in colonies not with other cichlids. I was wandering can you mix different species of tropheus

I don't see why you couldn't as long as you match aggression. The only thing is they are mouthbrooders so they will interbreed

You shouldn't sell them like that. If your keeping them for yourself then it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Not all tropheus varieties will interbreed, but I don't recall by any means which varieties will and won't. Ya may end up havin' to go to a forum more specialized in trophs to get that info. Trophs.com is a good source of info on Tropheus and Petrochromis species.
