Hi.
Here is a really good tip for optimum changing of tropical fish water.
I then add this water straight to my tank to top up evaporation that occurs as I have an open top tank.
An even better way of doing the above is to use a Brita Filter Kettle. This will filter the water before boiling which gives you even better quality water. However I find this not really cost effective on a Tropical tank and best employed on a SW setup.
Give the above a go.... works wonders!

- Pour water conditioner into kettle
- Add tap water to maximum fill level
- Next step is trial and error. Turn the kettle on and experiment with how long it takes to heat the water to the required temperature of your tank
