Chinese algae eaters dont belong in any aquarium. They habitually kill or at the very least eat other fishes eyes. They get enormous. and they literally cant be fed a natural diet in home aquaria.

Instead, fixing the problem at its source is the way to go.

How long do you run your lights daily?
What light fixture?
What kind of algae is it?

I don't have any algae right now I was just wondering for the future but man those algae eaters sound deadly!

They are terrible choices of fish for the hobby.

If you want a great algae eater, instead look at nerite snails. They are great for algae, dont breed, are easy to rake care of, and come in a variety of neat colors or shapes.
