Welcome to the site . I'm an app user so I can't visit your profile...but I think I can take a shot at what's happening. The vast majority of your beneficial bacteria lives in your filters, and by replacing them it will throw your tank into a mini-cycle. This will cause a bacterial bloom and cause ,illy water. Do you know your ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte levels? In the mean time check out this article to get some good info on how to deal with the issue.
