My 50 gallon tank is slightly cloudy and I don't understand why and with that how to fix it. It has been running for 4 months and never got completely crystal clear. It is only a slight cloudiness that I'll get a picture of when i get home. The tank parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and .2 nitrates. I have a quietflow filter rated for a 55 gallon and one rated for a 20 gallon. I thought it might be a bit of a reflection off the white sand but not sure. Would adding a sponge filter or uv sterilizer help? Tank is slightly understocked according to aqadvisor.

Do you have any driftwood? It might be contributing to cloudiness. Purigen in your filter can help.

I do have several pieces of wood in there. Found them at a lake. I'll take them out and see if that improves the water quality. Upside down cats will be sad but it must be done
