I bought a pair of "Clarkii" clowns several years ago but I don't think thats what they are. They had, but then lost, the white stripe at the base of their tail and now have white highlights at the tips of their tails. I think they might be Bicinctus clowns but I'm not sure. Any ideas??

Thanks,
Karl

I have been told that sebae clowns and clarkii clowns are almost impossible to tell apart.

A Sebae clown will generally have a norrower/slimmer body profile and only 2 stripes. The Clarkii is usually stalkier having a taller body profile and has two large vertical stripes on the body and a third at the base of the tail.

Amphiprion bicinctus which your does seem to resemble moreso, has the stalkier body profile of the Clarkii but the third stripe is absent. There is the hint of a line at the base of the tail but I'm not sure if that's just the pic quality.

Cheers
Steve
