Does anyone know why my pleco went from dark to light brown after changing my gravel

It's possibly a camaflouge adaptation.

Yup common pleco will change colors depending on their surrondings if my pleco is on his dark fake piece of driftwood he is nearly black and spots are black so that he melds into the log, however when he spends most his day out on the lighter gravel he is a light brown color all depends on colors around him/her.

I sure hope so and if so my pleco is a slight golden brown now
