Well I had my fish in a 25 gal, and the Texas & Convict ended up having little babies. I got my other fish out of the tank and now the fry are probably over a month old and both parents are still in the tank.

I have been feeding the parents cichlid pellets and then feeding frozen bloodworms crunched up pretty good so the fry can eat as well, and boy do they ever scarf it down. They also eat the pellet leftovers that the messy parents leave behind.

I want the fry to grow up strong and healthy like mom & dad, is there anything specific I should be doing?

*edit

The temp is usually around 80 degfree's F and I beleive my PH is still around 7 or 6.8ish last time it was checked.

OK, first off it would be considered bad to let these offspring out in the hobby. They may be interesting fish in their own right, but crossbreeding is a very hot topic, and is considered a nono by most cichlid zealots. There are some that would tell you to euthanize them. Beyond that I don't know what to tell you. If you are curious, post this at www.cichlid-forum.com and see what kind of response you get.

The fry could well be sterile. I had Brichardi and Julidochromus Transcriptus cross-breed once and the owner at the LFS said that the offspring were probably sterile.
