So i have had my convicts for about a week and a half and the female gets really really big and the next day shes small again? Did she lay the eggs but they got eaten? I have a small bn pleco in there but i didnt think he would be a problem? The temp is 83 the water parameters are perfect, plenty of hiding spaces and two filters.

Sounds like they're laying and then eating the eggs. Usually only requires having 2 and they will breed. Give them a chance they will get it right. Cichlids often go through a period of time trying to get it right.

Ok thanks. The water has been really cloudy so that what i thought was wrong. I did a 75% water change and now its all clear and the females color is AWESOME for a convict lol. They are going around cleaning off rocks and the clay pot.
