Hi All,

My first post! Starting a Fluval Edge...saltwater. Things are going nicely. Learned here that the brownish haze is a sign of cycle completion.
Have two corals and learned here one is a button polyp. The other???

Hard to tell from the pic but maybe a pulsing xenia?

Post a pic of the full tank, would love to see it :) What lighting do you have on the tank?

Thanks for the reply. I did a quick search and think you nailed it on the pulsing Xenia!

I have MR11 warm white LEDs. WHITE on the way. Was fumbling my way through. Did not know THIS would happen. Lol.

With lighting correction on the iPhone, it's hard to saw which is most accurate! Night time also.

This one is more color correct. I think I set a T5 on top for viewing! That's Petey, the clown!
PS This was before the coral and the cycling.

Right now with the T5 and the LEDs. Wow! That light is so pure.

The T5 is from plant cultivation. It's a fixture about 16" long that I set on top just to see what it looked like.

100% agree! Thanks for input. Have a Koralia Nano Evolution 240 on the way. That's the only thing changing for now. Oh...and the bright white LEDs.

I can't mix with blue LEDs because the fixtures literally split the light. Suggestions?

Do I need a water test to determine diatom issue or watch color?

More pics. Wondering about the cycling. Some small splotches on glass.

There's a worm that's been in here from day one. What is it? It has clear luminescent "fingers" or fan sticking out of the head. Kind of gross. Lol

Bristle? I am definitely not 100% though. You said it has clear things protruding from it and that's why I said that. Just don't touch it w/o rubber gloves.

Water tested perfect at store (my kit on the way) Added a cleanup crew: 4 hermits and 2 snails. They are BUSY!

Didja ever have a tube worm in your tank? Diatoms is something all new tanks go thru. It'll pass and disappear. No testing for it. Did you look it up? :)

I'm not sure what kind of snails. They are pretty, actually. They have a tube they use if they burrow under the sand. They each have an "eye" type marking on their "tails". I think it looks extra big bc of the pic angle.

Oh.. And why is your tank water so clear?? It looks so pure. One last question, promise, what type of filtration is that? At first I thought emperor or something

I don't know about tube worms yet. Yes, I read about diatoms. Everything seemed fine but, as a newbie, I wanted to double-check. Don't want to mess up. Going well! Thanks!
