Hows this one look, I'm meeting him tommorow.

Check out this item on Craigslist:

Fish Tank 50 gal

He came down to 60.

Is it a 55 (48" x 12" footprint) or 50 breeder (36" x 18" footprint)?

If it's a 55, I don't think it's a good deal. Petco has a sale a couple of times a year where you can get the tank for $55 new. The UG filter and screen top don't add much value to me.

If it's a 50 breeder, see if you can get him down to $50. They are harder to find and are (IMO) easier to decorate and have more surface area per gallon.

Having said al that, you are in Alaska, so I'm not sure what kind of access you ahve to stuff versus the contiguous 48.

Yeah, its all a bit more expensive up here. In store a 55 costs in the realm of +100$. It turns out its a 45 long. 48"L*12"W*17.5"T. But I still bought it all for 60$.

Just found another "year old" 125g for 200$. With stand and hood. No extras but still not a bad deal. Going out in the next two weeks to check it out and if it's in good condition I'm bringing it home. Score!!! Haha.

Shoot at this rate I'll have enough tanks to trade for a 300g soon enough haha.

Are you kidding me? We have one of the nicest stores I have ever seen. Ever... Alaska coral finatics has anything you could ask for. Tim even has his international shipping licence

Never heard of coral fanatics. I don't know about many fish places besides petco and pet zoo around here. If you could tell me about the places you shop at that'd be great.

I just missed this one, would've had no problem doing the hundred mile dash to pick up though

Craig's list great buys. Beat this one!

About 10 years ago I called a add looking for MH lights. I asked what wattage they were and he said 400 watt. As my system was only a 55 I started to say thanks and hang up. But he kept talking about the tank and accessories. So I let him finish expecting him to say about 2 or 3 thousand. Then he says $300 for all. Heres the list, 200 gallon in wall (black back and sides with no stand), 60 gallon sump, sequencer pump, aqua medic 5000 shorty skimmer, 1/3 hp chiller, 2 400 watt MH lights with 3 t12, octopus monitor and hoses. Needless to say I said I'm on the way. While driving to pick it up I asked the wife if she wanted to go for a larger SW system. To make matters more complicated I had just moveed my 180 FW into the wall in the dinning room. So my greatest find now resides there.
