Just noticed these smallish deep red blood-orange spots today. Good or bad?
I'm running a 30" marineland double bright LED non-reef.
Also I only have 1 550gph power head, but its pointed right over these new spots?

Sorry pictures aren't great, "it was a funny angle"
^any fans of the movie SNATCH

If it rubs off easily it's cyano if it doesn't it's coraline.

Hard to tell by pick. I agree see if it can be wiped off.

Btw. Snatch is one of my favorites. Add in Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels and your good to go!

the first pic is a little better its the two "blood red" splotches. will try and wipe it tomorrow.
is cyno very bad, can it over run a tank? will my emerald crab chow down?

Cyano isn't bad. Its bacteria. It's technically good for your tank but will only grow in bad conditions.

could it be this?

FORAMINIFERANS
These little filter feeders are very common on live rock in a reef tank.
