Danio with fungus

Help! I currently have 6 danios in a 40 gallon tank. The tank is cycling right now and I just started early this week. The danios looked fine except later today one of them developed a strange white fungus type thing that is on its neck. He is not as active as the others and another danio seems to be trying to eat it off! Please help I hope this is not contagious.

I do daily water changes and I just added aquarium salt. I know they're going through the cycle but I just started cycling it 2 days ago. Ammonia is barely visible especially with the daily water changes

How big of water changes and can you share a picture? With your tank cycling, you have to be super on top of water quality. Many things are simply caused by poor water. Do you gravel vac with your water changes?

It died, but none of the others are dead and they are looking all fine
