dirted tank cap size???

i was considering dirting my tank i curently have enough sand for a 1/2 inch cap, the tank is a 75 g, any advice ???

What are you wanting to dirt it for? I think a little thicker cap would be safer. Dirt isn't my favorite probably because I am a messy tank gardener.

Fair enough. It has a limited lifetime in the tank and it will need to be replaced in a year, probably by year 2.

Still think a little thicker cap maybe 1"-1.25" Help all the dirt from getting away.

Don't forget to sift it.
