I have been doing research on Discus. I would like to know if they really are hard to keep. What advice would u give to a newbie discus owner. Setup/water and tank mates?

Honestly, I would first ask your overall experience level in aquatics. Discus can be very challenging (for anyone) depending on size / quality of fish and available facilities (tank size, RO, feeding & PWC capacity, etc). That said, the right sized fish in the right sized tank and setup can be a lot less difficult than most people think. It's just expensive to do it right from scratch.
