definitely going with the larger tank but it's not gonna happen till after the winter. meanwhile, i'm going to need to cut down on the humidity in the rest of the house, so i started closing the wall tonight....
ok..so what's been going on with the tank? i've got some weird looking bacteria and/or algae growing on things. this is a koralia -
think it's cyano? dynos?
here's the wall so far, from a different angle-
and here are the corals, some growing rather quickly and others losing color. i think the spongodes frags from the gym tank are just losing color due to more light than they are used to-
on one side of the tank
on the other
anemone....which definitely looks better-
and here is a flash pic of a black sun coral given to me to rehab (it's in the rubbermaid sump)
There is a build thread on another forum about a 20,000g concrete build in his house. It explains how to do it in detail. I don't know what the rules are on posting the name but I'm sure you could google it.
is the sun coral under a 6500k compact or do you have that 150 watt MH on it?
also that anemone colored up much better, but it was still bubbled in the original pic that leads me to believe it just lost a bit of color but was still pretty happy
but yeah i think that could be cyano, there is alot of gas bubbles coming off, is there enough aeration?
The sun coral is in my sump with no light. The light you see was produced by the flash on my camera. I should have the wall done by the weekend and a door on the room as well.
Leo- I don't believe that the fact that the BTA is showing bubbles is any indication that its happy. I have kept many assorted BTA's and some of them never bubbled, but didn't relocate and grew to massive sizes. This anemone was clearly in distress.
