How can I tell if the driftwood I'm soaking is good or not?

If the water you're soaking it in is still turning yellowish its not ready

Thank you. But I'm talking about the wood. What if like there seems to be things oozing from it?

Hahaha so was I, if things are coming out of it is definitely not ready

It's more of a slime than oozing.

How big is it? Could you possibly boil it before putting it in your tank?

I'd say it's like 2 feet. I can soak it in the tub with really hot water before I put it in. I'm still trying to get the water clear.

If the slime is growing on the wood it is normal. If it is coming out of the wood itself something is not right. Try to only use hard woods and make sure it was completely dried out before you started soaking it.

Yea the slime is on the wood. I heard plecos enjoy eating it. I can't get a clear picture because I scrub it off 2 days ago.

Just a picture of the wood itself. If the wood is soft it shouldn't go in.

Dried. I sanded it tho is that bad?

No you can cut it and whatever if it's nice a dried out. Just keep soaking it until it seem clean. Boiling it would help though. Even if you can only boil sections at a time.
