Wow. That is scary to hear. Really interesting info though. Thanks for posting that. I understand that there's a market for these beautiful fish, but it's a bit sickening to consider that they are being "created" only to oftentimes suffer.

So, if we can believe that(I do)
Then for the few who do actually get females(there are some) we need to thank the home breeder , average hobbiest, or the "lucky" who breed even a few and get them out where they can be mixed with other lines.
The stock being supplied to most "fish sellers"(used loosely) of this fish is poor and real breeders know it.
Pretty fish,YES.
Needs special attention to bring it back.
I don't imagine wild lines of this fish are easy or cheap to get a hold of?
