I had surgery a week ago, so my tanks have been in the hands of my dad. I expected a little fall out, but I did huge water changes and cleaned everything the day before I went in and made sure everything was ready for when I wasn't here. However, 3 of my until recently very healthy neons have died and so have two of my ottos. Amm is 0, trites are 0 and trates are 20. I can't do a water change yet but I'm going to get my mom to help me do it later this afternoon.
Everything that has died's stomach has been really big, one even popped. I think my juvenile angels may be starting to try to pair off, could it be then picking at the smaller fish? I'll try to watch the tank today and see what's going on, but any ideas?
Btw the ottos are new. Got them about 2 weeks ago, I've never had any issue with stock from this store. They quarantine for 2-3 weeks before putting them out on the sale floor.
