That's what I did just make sure you use lots of sand if you don't want the Eco complete pebbles poking through. I heard that over time the sand will sink to the bottom but I'm not sure.

That is a good cap. Just make sure your fish dont bury themselves in the sand.

The sand will migrate eventually under the EC, or so my club tells me.

I use straight sand, never used a cap.
