I just ordered the eheim 2026 canister filter yesterday from bigalsonline for $165 w/media -

I know a few members have experience with eheim filters, anyone with 2026 have anything bad to say about it??

I read that you can go 3-4 months before having to do maintenance on it. If that's true, its worth the extra bucks..

cant wait to set it up..

:D :D :D :D :D

I've had the 2026 running on my 58 gal for about 18 months, and I cannot think of anything bad to say about it. It's whisper quiet and provides more than enough filtration and surface agitation for my tank.

I've only opened the cannister twice since setting it up. When I did, I rinsed the ceramic noodles, ehi-substrat, and fiber pad in tank water, and thoroughly rinsed out the cannister itself. I never use the carbon pads. I do weekly 40% water changes and gravel vacs.

It's a nice filter, and you got it at a good price from Big Als (sometimes it goes on sale for $145). I stupidly bought myfilter/media from the lfs and paid about $250.

thanks for the info QTOFFER. That is awesome ..only twice since you've set it up..thats sweet. Im sure it has a lot to do with keepin up on weekly water changes too.. but, woohoo!
