Fake plants yay or nay

So just looking around mbuna setups an most people setup i seen had plants of some sort so i was thinking of putting some in my tank but not till I get suggestions lol so here is my setup should i put some plants yes or no ?ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1388209555.234811.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1388209571.777384.jpg
 
It would add some color to your tank. I don't have African cichlids but I have SA/CA cichlids. Here is my tank with all silk plants. They are durable.

I liked the way the silk plants look when new compared to regular plastic. But after the Severums had their way they are shredded.
 
Word the only thing stoping me is keeping it as close to there habitat a possible and in mbuna lake Malawi I do t think there's plants more like algae and rocks
