Feeding flakes w/ Overflow

Hmm...just discovered that feeding foods that float (almost everything) will just get sucked down the overflow....what does everyone do about this?
 
soak it in water first for a min or two then dump in !! but to be honest i dont think flakes are a natural food better off with frozen marine foods :)
 
When I acuatlly use flakes I put my hand with the flakes in it under the water and move it around the tank. This causes the flakes to be more or less supended/sinking in the water column.

The other option is to shut down the return pump when you feed. A properly designed oveflow/sump system will start back up and will not flood the floor with water.
