Filter Media Question

Here's a pretty basic question.

I was checking out a filter today that had a regular carbon filter, a bio wheel, and then a "media basket", which was just a big empty mesh basket behind all the other stuff. What is one supposed to put in there? :?

Carbon or any type of pelletized filter media.....

I am assumming you are talking about the Emperor filters. There is a lot you can add to the media baskets. Carbon, PO4 sponge, nitrates?ammonia removers. I used to have an emperor 400 and I put GAC in one basket and "Aqua Chargers" in the other.
