For a 6.6 gallon betta aquarium with one male betta, would a sponge filter be enough with weekly water changes or should I get a HOB or in water one (also with weekly water changes)? I also have two anubias congensis in there as well.

Thanks for any help!

Sponge filters are your best bet in most size tanks. Great bio filtration plus low maintenance plus low flow so it wont stress your betta. Go for the sponge (y)

Sponge filters are awesome! Also, they make it easier to seed a new tank if you ever wish to upgrade or add-on down the road ?

So I went with the sponge filter and wow..... the water in that tank is crystal! Now I'm debating putting one in my bigger tank.

Thanks for your help!

Go for it! They keep the water in check and you can move the sponge if you want to set up another tank (or hook a friend up)

Glad I was of assistance. :)
