Finger Leather not "open"

I have a nice size finger leather in my tank but It doesnt seem to open its polys, its always nice and big, its higher up in my tank but it never looks fuzzy like a lot of the leathers do..

The leather I have is this kind here

Coral Master but the flowerish parts of the leather never seem to be open...any ideas on whats up?

any ideas on this, its also been turning a brownish colour I thought it might be slothing?

Ok this sounds silly but reach in there and pet it, with a glove if you want to keep it off your skin. My leathers will do the same thing from time to time, rubbing them helps to slaugh off the film and they get back to normal real quick.

Looks like sloughing to me. How long has it been like that. Try putting some moderate flow on it.

been like that for a week so I moved it 2 days into a high flow area and up higher for more light and today it seems have started to expand and open up like it has in the past.
