Finnex Planted+ 24/7 Fully Automated Aquarium LED ?

I have a 55 gal tank with the standard two 24" fluresant bulbs on top with covers.
I want to install the Finnex 24/7 LED light assembly.
Do I just remove my lights and leave the cover?
Or remove the whole cover assembly?
Don't you loose allot of water due to evaporation without a cover?

I think you'll need to remove the whole cover. The 24/7 mounts on the glass edge on the sides. You will have some evaporation. Three of my tanks are topless and evaporation isn't that big of a deal. That being said, I have the 24/7 on one of my tanks and it is an awesome light.
