Fish ID. Freshwater Barracuda?

Hey, I was told this was a redtail barracuda, but all the pics I see on the internet look different. They all have black circles around their tails. Can anyone confirm this is a redtail cuda!?

I had a barracuda that looked just like that and I was told it was a redtail barracuda as well. I think it may be a color variation.

Also, anyone with experience with them please share. I hear they can be challenging to keep.
