Fish Identification

I'd like to know what this big guy is and some info on him as far as temperament. A friend wants to give him to me but I'm thinking he probably isn't fond of African Cichlids. He's approx. 4 inches long right now.

Looks like a midas, red devil, or red terror cichlid. Kinda hard to tell. How big of a tank is he in?

Right now he's in a thirty gallon. I'm getting a 55 next week and I'd like to take him if he's not aggressive.

Depends on the tank mates you keep him with. He is one of the more aggressive cichlids.

I wanted to make the 55 gallon a Malawi tank. So I'm assuming he wouldn't be a welcome addition?

Definitely not, total compatibility issues, not to mention they prefer different water conditions. I would also think that keeping an eventual foot-long fish with a bunch of other eventual six-inch fish will not be a very good experience for the fish.
